  1.        Release 10.1 of the Clarkson packet driver for PARnet-PC

  3. This package contains a Clarkson packet driver for PARnet-PC. It's based on
  4. the Clarkson packet driver collection release 10, which contains packet
  5. drivers for over 30 different network cards. With the PARnet-PC driver you
  6. can use several programs like Telnet/FTP/NFS, etc. to access other PARnet
  7. hosts.

  9. Read the PARnet-PC hardware document first for the hardware and the special
  10. cable connections.

  12. For installation instructions, read DOCS/INSTALL.DOC.
  13.  
  14. Since the current PARnet-PC version is still BETA, there are much
  15. limitations & bugs. For a list of possible problems, see DOCS/BUGS.DOC.

  17. For descriptions of the files, see DOCS/MANIFEST.DOC.

  19. On the PARnet kernel code is NO copyright, the packet skeleton &
  20. utilities are under GNU license, see DOCS/COPYING.DOC. In short it says
  21. that: You cannot stop anyone from doing anything you can do with it,
  22. and the source code for all modules must be available.

  26. The PARnet packet driver is NOT available in the Clarkson collection yet.
  27. Neither do they know about PARnet-PC. If you have questions/bugreports/
  28. suggestions/etc, please send them to me (not to 'Clarkson').

  30. Also, I can't support PARnet-PC till the end of my life. If someone will
  31. take it over from me, please do! There's much to be done to make PARnet-PC
  32. better than the (boring) 115200 serial lines.
